Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits Coastal Pacific Wine & Spirits Chain Sales Consultant in Schererville, Indiana

Job Description

  • Oversee 15-25 established chain grocery store accounts

  • Achieve distribution and growth objectives for Southern Glazer's portfolio of wine/spirits products within a specific geographic area and through effective account management of existing retail customers

  • Introduce new products, promote improved distribution, and ensure in-store promotion results

  • Stay abreast of business/market conditions, intensively plan sales efforts, recognize new opportunities within each account and maintain the necessary territory records

  • Build and develop the trust and confidence of the retailer through knowledge of spirits and wine products, persuasive presentations, and overcoming objections

  • Perform other work related duties and special projects as assigned

  • Work flexible hours which include early morning (i.e. 4:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. start times), evenings, and/or weekends. Overnight travel as required. Additional hours required during the peak season of October, November and December

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience

  • 1-3 year’s work experience in a data intensive position in a consumer products/retail industry

  • Wine/Industry knowledge to include basic understanding of distribution, wine varietals, and leading spirit categories

  • Experience making business presentations/reviews to small groups

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite

  • Business Intelligence, SQL, Reporting Services

  • Extremely detail oriented

  • Comfortable in a heavily data driven environment

  • Ability to be a team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to juggle multiple priorities with tight deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal English communication skills

  • Must be self-motivated, articulate and creative

  • Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision

  • Knowledge of market research tools (ie. ACNielsen or IRI syndicated information)

  • Problem solving skills to assess business needs and develop solutions
