The Lilly Professional Apprenticeship Program is a 12-month intensive fixed duration (FDE) professional development program during which the apprentice receives a combination of formal training, on-the-job learning, and mentoring in a key functional area to be equipped to compete for a Lilly position after successful completion of the apprenticeship.


At Lilly, The Medicines Innovation Hub (MIH) Talent Development Academy (TDA) designs and facilitates various development programs for our scientists. The MIH TDA’s purpose is to build the framework and expectations across MIH for emerging talent recruitment and development programs. Our intent is to unite functional and business needs with Lilly Diversity and Inclusion goals. In an effort to drive our purpose and intent, we have developed and will continue to develop systems and tools to support consistency and efficiency.

We focus on identifying, attracting, developing, and retaining top talent by advancing and utilizing the careers of the scientists in the MIH.

The Apprenticeship position presents an opportunity to be part of a skilled team, comprised of scientists, HR professionals, and the core Talent Development Academy Team. The ideal apprentice would have prior experience executing and maintaining various defined processes and a working proficiency in Microsoft programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and PowerPoint. Additionally, experience with Power BI, specifically the ability to summarize data and build dashboards would be advantageous.

Candidates for this position will be expected to:

· Advance internal processes within the MIH TDA. Most of these activities will focus on executing and maintaining the MIH TDA operational tasks including but not limited to:

· SOP Writing (workflow and processes)

· Recruiting Events collaboration

· Evaluation and management of Recruiting documentation

· Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

· Excel Proficiency including crafting pivot tables, graphics, and the ability to summarize large data sets.

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of related or professional experience.

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Additional skills/Preferences:

  • At least 1 year of college and/or associate degree in a related field.

  • Experience, knowledge and desire to work in STEM
