The role of the Senior Accountant is to assist in the preparation and analysis of complete, timely, and accurate financial records. Responsible for the preparation and review of various account reconciliations, preparation with tax filings, preparation of consolidated financial statements along with variance analysis of historical trends. In addition, this role also assists in the preparation, maintenance, and monitors adherence to accounting policies/procedures and internal controls.
Assist in month-end close process:
Preparation of specific account reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner
Preparation of specific journal entries in an accurate and timely manner
Aid in the general ledger accounting for the corporate enterprises
Make recommendations for improvements within the close processes
Preparation and Maintenance of Accounting Policies and Procedures:
Preparation of accounting policies that the Company does not yet have in place
Monitor adherence to company policies and procedures including internal controls
Assess and evaluate current accounting practices to help develop solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting
Assistance with year-end audit and preparation of tax/compliance filings:
Maintain and follow calendar of tax and business registration filings due and assist in preparation of these filings
Prepare and file property tax filings for all subsidiaries
Prepare and file all sales and use tax filings
Prepare and file admissions tax filings
Assist with preparing files for auditors and answering auditor inquires
Ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Supervisor
- This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities at this time.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum of three to five years’ experience in finance and accounting
Innovative thinker and self-starter
Excellent organizations skills
Ability to prioritize and follow up on tasks and perform multiple responsibilities efficiently and accurately at the same time
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Solid information systems background
Strong Microsoft Office skills, experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and Adaptive a plus
High integrity and confidentiality
- Work requirements typically fall within normal business hours with little to no requirements for travel. Weekend or evening hours are not typical, but may be required for peak seasonal needs.
