Milliman Healthcare Data Analyst in Indianapolis, Indiana
Description
Business Overview:
The Healthcare Data Analyst will be responsible for supporting their assigned supervisor(s) in completing internal and external projects. The analyst will be responsible for learning, maintaining, and improving ongoing processes that feed recurring deliverables to the client. Additionally, the analyst will use coding platforms to develop novel solutions that support new projects. A seasoned analyst mentor from within the practice will be assigned to support learning and capability development. The analyst will gain experience using a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative healthcare data to support client needs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide analysis of an d manipulate large, complex datasets
Learn and improve complex processes that support on-going projects
Develop and implement plans to address project objectives
Produce sophisticated code and sound analytic reports
Develop novel code to address new client requests
Effectively communicate data-driven results to the consulting team and clients without a quantitative/data-related background
Work efficiently in a multi-task environment
Quickly respond to dynamic timelines and last-minute requests
Work independently and collaboratively on projects
Develop strong problem solving skills
Qualifications:
Degree (Bachelors or Masters Degree) in mathematics, economics, or other quantitative field
1-2 years of professional experience coding in SAS and a desire to learn other languages
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Excel VBA
Experience in application development and software implementation is preferred
Experience in quantitative analysis with a demonstrated focus in statistics and analytics
Experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies and/or consulting firms a plus but not required
Willing and able to learn large and complex coding/software processes
Professional presence
