Community Based SOT Clinical Supervisor

Position Description

Position Summary:

The Community Based Clinical Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, evaluating and coordinating clinical services for the SOT clinical team. Employee is responsible for providing skilled clinical services assistance/education to Therapists / Case Managers. Employee supervises and participates in the clinical aspects of: admissions, prognosis, progress reviews, rehabilitation, treatment planning, and discharge planning functions for the SOT team. Employee is responsible for the proper implementation and on-going follow-up of program guidelines.

The Clinical Supervisor has the ability to provide home based therapy and case management services to adults, children, youth, and families where one or more family member(s) experiences abusive behavior or acts abusively toward others. Abusive behaviors include such behaviors as sexually maladaptive behaviors, physically abusive behaviors, neglect of children, and/or domestic violence.

Responsible for coordinating continuum of therapeutic goals for all assigned clients and their families ensuring optimum utilization of resources, service delivery, and compliance with external agencies and referral sources requirements. Responsible for various duties related to coordinating treatment and discharge activities.

Also provides training, supervision and consultation to a team of staff that provide community based services. Ability to provide support and oversight to staff to ensure documentation/interventions with youth/families are in line with practice principals

Works as a salaried employee in accordance with established policies as outlined in the employee handbook. The employee in this position is expected to provide 30 day notice prior to voluntary resignation. A probationary period of 90 days is required. An employee in this position is expected to commit to the team for 6 months and must submit a written request to Clinical Director to change teams.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or other related field from an accredited program.

  • 2 - 4 years supervisory / management experience in a mental health setting with specialization in clinical theories pertinent to adolescents with sexually maladaptive behavior and / or community based service delivery.

  • LMHC, LCSW, LMFT required, or must obtain licensure within 6 months of accepting the position. Clinicial Supervisor requires certification from INAJSOP or the University of Kentucky’s adolescent sexual offender credentialing program. Employee will agree that if he/she voluntarily ends their employment with Acadia within one year of the completion date of the exam, he/she will repay this entire fee to Acadia or its successors or assigns. If the employee doed not repay this fee prior on the final day of employment, employee will authorize Acadia to withhold this fee from their final check; and, if the final check is insufficient to fully repay the fee, then employee will agree that Acadia will continue to hold the employee responsible for the balance, and may utilize any and all available options to collect the unpaid balance.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.

  • Must possess valid Indiana driver’s license and auto insurance.

  • Minimum 21 years old

    Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of clinical practices, techniques and ethics as they apply the SMB population.

  • Thorough knowledge of individual, group and family behavior.

  • Thorough knowledge of counseling techniques and theories.

  • Through knowledge of the social effects of various physical and mental problems on clients, their families, and/or the community.

  • Considerable knowledge of various federal, state, and facility guidelines concerning the care for clients with Sexually Maladaptive and Reactive Behaviors.

  • Considerable knowledge of the legal requirements and court procedures involved in the treatment of SMB clients in facilities and community agencies and program policies, rules and regulations governing client services.

  • Considerable knowledge of supervisory and training techniques and practices used in a mental health setting.

  • Ability to multi-task, capable of daily problem-solving complex issues.

  • Effective oral and written communications skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of how to develop monitoring systems for clinical effectiveness, service delivery, and overall clinical adherence to policy.
