Prepares food for patients as prescribed by the attending physician. Also prepares food for staff members for lunch and dinner daily as directed by menus, tally sheets and prep sheets. Foods are prepared according to recipes/procedures in the correct amounts following the specified sanitation and safety requirements of the department. Prepares foods to meet the expectations of guests and staff as to palatability, seasoning and textures. Performs the necessary cleaning requirements to keep the department clean, safe, orderly and sanitary. The person in this position demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide service appropriate to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • Must be able to read, write and understand simple printed matter. Must be able to complete mathematical problems including fractions.

Minimum Experience

  • 6 months in institutional food preparation.
