Dekko in Garrett, IN has a great opportunity on our team, we are looking for a Tool and Die Repair Person.1st shift 5am - 3:30pm Monday - Thursday (Available for overtime)This person must be a motivated team player, with drive and adaptability.Job Summary:iThe tool and die position is responsible for modification of tooling equipment and dies for production. This position will determine the nature of the necessary repairs to ensure continued operations for progressive die stamping. Must follow shop practices, shop orders, procedures, verbal and written instructions, as well as, manufacturers drawings, specifications and blueprints. This position will also perform operations such as disassembling, cleaning, repairing, and/or replacing defective or worn parts, reassembling, adjusting, and testing of all repairs.Essential Duties:i1. Safety- Maintain a safe work environment through the safe work practices established by Dekko. Read and follow the general and housekeeping rules that are posted in the facility. Report any and all unsafe conditions to your immediate Supervisor.2. Maintain a neat and orderly work area in accordance to 5S standards3. Work with Engineering and Management on new and existing tooling and dies.4. Troubleshoot dies in press or on bench, work to form punch length5. Check production components produced to print prior to operator producing components6. Set-up of machinery and equipment which includes adjustments and maintenance of specific support equipment and tooling.7. Prepare and maintain progressive dies (sharpen, polish or regrind)8. Maintain documentation showing inspection results and other quality department activities as directed.9. Dispose of non-conforming material as directed.10. Investigate root cause of internal and external quality concerns as directed.11. Perform receiving and in-process inspections per control plans and company stamping standards.Interpersonal Skills:ii Strong leadership ability with a motivational and inclusive team approach.Technical Skills:ii Knowledge in blueprint reading and interpretationi Knowledge in surface grinding, lathe and mill machineryi High mechanical aptitudei Proficient with basic math: factions, addition, subtractions, ruler measurements etc.i Full understanding of calipers, micrometers, optical comparator and height gages (or equivalents).i Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products. Ability to learn new software quicklyi Must possess own tools.Education:High School diploma or equivalent required.Associate Degree with a technical focus preferred.Minimum of 4 years apprenticeship or 6-7 yearsi experience
