Candidate serves as Work Experience Development and Placement Specialist whose main goal is to work with area Employers to develop viable Work Experience programs and to place qualified youth and adults into these Work Experience programs with the goal of assisting these clients in obtaining gainful employment.DUTIES:Networks with and recruits local Employers in the appropriate Career Clusters to secure Work Experience opportunities within the county for both adult and youth clients.Maintains strong and positive presence in the community in order to promote employment of youth and adults in Work Experience programs.Maintains current knowledge on occupational, educational, and economic information to assist individuals in deriving vocational and educational objectives. Maintains knowledge of other community agencies and programs and training offered.Maintains successful working relationship with local Economic/Workforce Development Agencies. Maintains and updates database of local companies.Prepare required Work Experience documentation. Manage participants through the duration of the work experience. Coordinate with employers to track participant time charging and progress. Enter appropriate services and case notes in the customer tracking database.Works with both Youth and Adult/DW Employment and Training Advisors to notify clients about upcoming Work Experience opportunities, and to perform other support duties as needed.Schedules and conducts required work experience boot camp workshops for youth participants, ensuring completion prior to placing participants at a worksite.Ensures compliance with federal, state, and agency rules and regulations. Ensures agency and individual performance standards are met and/or exceeded.Performs other duties as assigned.I. REQUIREMENTS:Associate Degree in Education, Marketing, Business, or related field and/or equivalent combination of training and experience. Baccalaureate Degree preferred. Prior sales, marketing and/or recruitment experience also preferred.Ability to meet all hiring requirements, including passage of a drug test and background check.Knowledge of skills and aptitude tests, ability to interpret and analyze test results.Knowledge of and ability to provide training to clientele on resume preparation, proper interviewing skills/conduct, and networking skills.Working knowledge of standard office procedures, and ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated processes, tasks, and operations.Working knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and ability to conduct public presentations and prepare detailed written reports as required.Ability to properly operate standard office equipment, including computer, printer, calculator, shredder, and telephone.Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other JobWorks departments, various community organizations, social service agencies, educational institutions, various employers, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.Ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of department information and records according to state requirements.Ability to comply with all employer and department policies and work rules, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct.Ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect, including occasional encounters with ira
